Who we are

AfroXXI is an initiative of the General Ibero-American Secretariat (SEGIB) to commemorate the International Year for People of African Descent (2011), through an Ibero-American Meeting held in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil), with the presence of more than 2500 attendees, Heads of Latin American and African States, government authorities, leaders of social movements, and scholars.
Currently, AfroXXI is working on the implementation  of the outcomes of the «Declaración de Salvador» (Heads of State and authorities) and the «Carta de Salvador» (social movements), through the creation of the Ibero American Program AfroXXI: population and culture of African descent.
